Tennis is becoming a bigger part of my life, and I am loving it! I shared our initial journey into the world of tennis in Santa Barbara in a previous post. Now, I want to give you an update on how things are going. We are really enjoying our time playing tennis. It gets us out of the house (which especially nice since our house is a construction zone.) And we get some great exercise too.

Yaaass girllaa!! As a poshmarker myself, I am elated that Serena has joined the Board of Directors. In case you didn’t know, Poshmark is an online retail marketplace, where you create an account to buy/sell new/used items. It’s really cool. This is not the first time the tennis superstar has launched in other endeavours. After all, she has owns a clothing line of her own.  Poshmark announced this partnership Wednesday,  emphasizing that “Williams will help through its next phase of growth”.

Cat Suit Controversy! Womens Tennis Association Modernizes Dress Code

Last year their was a lot of controversy surrounding the Nike cat suit that tennis player Serena William’s wore during the French Open tournament.

William’s wore the suit to help prevent blood clots due to almost having a pulmonary embolism during child birth and to also boost her confidence post baby.

The suit was heavily criticized by the French tennis federation and was banned from being worn during the remainder if the tournament. This decision received heavy backlash since many considered the issue to be sexist and racist.

Rules surrounding what women wear in tennis has been heavily scrutinized for a very long time and the Womens Tennis Association has took a step forward to help change that.

The Association has modernized its dress code by now allowing leggings and mid length compression shorts to be worn without a skirt during matches.
